At a glance
- MCP connects tools; skills describe methods within a compatible client.
- The directories provide filtering, sorting and static pagination.
- Read the original documentation and license before installation.
Decide what capability you need
For external data or application operations, look for an appropriate MCP tool interface. For repeatable task instructions, inspect skills. A repository may contain multiple tools or skills, so repository count is not a count of independent capabilities.
Search a specific project
Open the MCP directory (Chinese interface) and search for Context7. Use the Skill directory for task methods. Filter by category and sort by name, update date or stars. Pages contain 20 entries and have stable URLs for sharing. Clearing filters restores the list.
Read the detail page
Inspect capabilities, task examples, setup guidance and sources. Reviewed entries include additional selection notes. Follow the original README for installation commands and current compatibility requirements. Browsing the directory does not install a server or grant access to an account.
Match the project to the task
Context7 is oriented toward library documentation. Provide the library and version, then verify that the retrieved material matches the project. Documentation retrieval does not prove generated code runs. Browser operations or spreadsheet tasks need different capabilities.
Check three separate signals
Stars reflect repository attention at collection time, not security or effectiveness. License terms may differ across subdirectories. Identify the files, accounts and services a tool can access, prepare the documented environment and start with non-sensitive test data.
Distinguish studio guidance from installed tools
Youjie Studio currently loads selected skill guidance as text. It does not gain executable MCP tools merely because a project is listed here. Install tools through a compatible client when necessary, or follow the studio configuration guide for conversational methods.
